Alice's Garden carefully selects the quality of the material chosen for the braiding. As a result, the life of the Grenada is exceptional! Alice's Garden's rounded polyrattan is resistant to sunlight and weather (snow/rain/salt water). The legs of the armchairs, sofa and table are made of acacia wood. It is a suitable hardwood for outdoor use. The wood on the Grenada set comes from Vietnamese FSC plantations. In order to be used immediately, the Grenada is covered with an oil that protects it. This oil is colourless, which keeps the shade as close as possible to the raw color.
The Acacia wood perfectly dried after cutting, sandblasted and treated with a protective oil. Assembled using tongue and groove joints, as well as galvanized hardware. Made from FSC wood, this product has been manufactured in an environmentally friendly way and guarantees sustainable forest management. Galvanized steel metal structure Removable cushions: 100% polyester covers with a zipper
This garden set is covered with a colourless oil at the end of the manufacturing process. The impregnation of the oil varies according to the wood species. There may still be a small residue. Be sure to wipe it off with a cloth before first use. You don't need to add more oil on your new garden furniture, you can wait until the end of summer. Acacia is a live material. As a result, its appearance changes over time and some cracks may appear. This is perfectly normal and only adds to the authentic charm of this popular hardwood. Although robust and weather-resistant, acacia wood requires maintenance to extend its life. Remove leaves, standing water and dust on a daily basis. Wash stains and food residues with soapy water and a sponge. If your table is very dirty, you can gently scrub it with a small hard brush. In spring and late summer, clean your garden furniture thoroughly and let it dry. Once the woodwork is completely dry, apply a thin layer of oil. Be careful, make sure it will not rain during the 24 hours following the application of the oil. If your acacia garden furniture set has been exposed to a lot of rain, you may notice that the surface fibres swell up a bit and that it feels rougher to the touch. To remedy this, use a fine grain sand paper and gently sand it until it feels smooth. Once sanded, apply a coat of oil to restore the original hue. The oil layer is what protects garden furniture from stains and allows it to cope with pollution, bad weather and mould. If you choose to let your acacia furniture age, without applying the oil twice a year, it will gradually become an eye-catching silvery colour. However, it will no longer be protected.
- It's important to prepare your acacia garden furniture for winter months. Store it in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. If you protect it with a cover, choose a polyester one rather than a PVC one.
- Keep your garden sofa set away from direct or excessive heat.
