There are simple methods of preventing the general wear and tear of your parasol. A canopy for a parasol is a more vulnerable material compared to the solidity of the adjustable slats on a contemporary pergola. It needs to be protected from heavy rainfall and tucked in at night. Covering your parasol with a durable cover will prevent mildew forming and help to retain the original colour of your canopy.

WHICH PARASOL BASE DO I NEED?

A patio awning is another viable option for a small patio or terrace. It is easily installed and looks charming hanging over a long garden table, but it does not have the portability of a parasol. You can move a cantilever parasol base around your patio and change its position again and again. The efficacy of a parasol depends on the quality of its base weight.

CANTILEVER

A cantilever parasol is a parasol with a side stand. This means that your canopy shades the desired area without having a central mast in the way. sweeek has a wide range of cantilever parasols and in turn a varied range of cantilever base weights. Our cantilever parasols have substantially weighty canopies which need to be supported by a stable base weight. Ballast your new parasol using an impact resistant, square base weight or a 100L fillable weight reinforced by a built-in cross base. A cantilever parasol will look striking hanging over a deluxe garden sofa.

CENTRE POLE

A centre pole parasol provides more stability than a cantilever parasol. It has its central mast in the middle, making it more resistant to strong winds. Our central pole base weights are decorative and sturdy. A woven resin design and a tightening wheel combine aesthetics and functionality. Thanks to the tightening wheel, you can fit a central mast with a diameter of between 38 to 48mm in this elegant base weight. It is a practical size and will pair well with a bistro garden table set or chic sun loungers.

BASE MAINTENANCE

Maintaining your parasol base is easy. Base weights are made to be weatherproof and stand the test of time. You can clean your base weight with a wet cloth and use washing up liquid if necessary. When you are setting up your base weight, it is recommended to fill it with sand. Sand is heavier than water and improves stability. During the winter, you can store your parasol base in your garage, garden storage box, or shed.

With adequate storage and maintenance, you can ensure your parasol and base weight remains a permanent accessory for your terrace or patio. Although our parasols are made using high-quality materials, the time may come when you need to replace part of your parasol. Our replacement cranks and handles are easy to install and will keep your parasol operating smoothly. Replacement canopies are a great option to have if your canopy loses its original appearance or if you simply feel like changing the colour of your canopy.
