THREE THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING A NEW BARBECUE
Here are the three points that are worth comparing before making your purchase.
1. Type of fuel
Have you been considering buying a new barbecue, but put off by the long wait for the charcoal to turn red? Does the thought of lots of additional cleaning put you off? Worry not. If you choose a propane bbq from our extensive selection, you simply light the gas - with the built-in ignition system and after 5-10 minutes of warming up, you are ready to cook. No long waits or smoke from the charcoal, and with a gas BBQ, there is no smoke (unless you burn the food!).
For the greatest convenience, the bottled-gas versions are by far the most convenient and user friendly. Gas barbecues light almost instantly with the turn of a dial and a press of the button. One small spark and we're on our way to preparing a fantastic outdoor meal.
Cooking when barbecuing is essentially grilling the meat or fish, just like you would in the kitchen - but you're doing it outside.
To clean the grill, our online store has a wide range of accessories to make the job quick and easy. The great thing is that if you are using it regularly, you don't have to clean it every time you use it. When you light it up and leave it to heat up with the lid closed, it has the benefit of burning off any food remaining from the last use - leaving it clean and germ-free, ready to cook more tasty food for your family and guests.
Depending on the level of use, you can easily remove the cooking rack and drop it into the kitchen sink or dishwasher to bring it back to gleaming condition again. The residue on the grill rack, from the last use, may look baked on, but after soaking in the sink in warm soapy water for fifteen or twenty minutes, it will be quick and easy to wash off. Just drop it in the sink for a soak with the other accessories. Brillo pads make that job really easy.
MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR BARBECUE
In the UK, we take every opportunity to eat outdoor. When summer returns and the long warm evenings eventually return, dining al fresco gives us that feeling of Mediterranean living that we enjoy while on holiday. Dining on the patio, relaxing on your new garden chairs. Chilling with a glass of your favourite drink in hand, it's easy to forget that you still have to go back to work in the morning.
In Britain, we love our barbecues. Getting down to do the wedding may not be everyone's idea of fun, but getting outside to bbq some sausages or chicken certainly won't get many complaints! A few sausages, or chicken breasts sliced into strips, served with a little salad make a very tasty dish. How about a few juicy ground beef burgers, cooked to perfection, smothered with mustard or relish and served in a fresh, soft bread bun? Got your taste buds watering yet?
There's often a bit of rivalry among friends as to who has the newest, largest model. The ultimate in garden accessories - but one that has a practical value - not just a fashion statement. How many accessories have you got with yours? How many do you really need? Not many really. A good set of tongs so you can turn the goodies over regularly, and a spatula to stop the burgers from sticking to the grill. That's about all.
What about cooking the sauces, or the boiled onion for the perfect burgers? You'll want to get a model that has a burner on the side - so you can heat or just keep the pot hot. One burner ring is probably enough, though larger BBQ models are available with two or three side burners.
STORING YOUR BARBECUE
Where will you keep your barbecue and how will you protect it from the weather? Many people keep their barbecues and accessories inside over the winter to protect them from the elements. If you are lucky enough to have room for it in the garage or garden shed, it's a good idea to move it inside during the winter. Even though many models are made from stainless steel or are enamelled, it's a good idea to keep it protected from the worst the weather can bring. It will last a lot longer that way.
However, if you don't have room to store it inside, you can buy one of our BBQ covers to protect it. When storing your BBQ outdoor, it's best to keep it on a paved area, such as the patio or a footpath. The protective covers can be found in the accessories section of our website. The covers are waterproof and are designed to fit neatly around the edges. Zips are included in most covers to make fitting and removal easy. In windy conditions, it's a good idea to use additional tie dows to prevent the cover from blowing off.
It is worth considering that you can use your barbecue all year round. You don't have to wait for summer to get those tasty dishes from the grill. If you are storing your BBQ on the patio, you can fire it up at a moments notice - even in the depths of winter. Who cares if there's snow on the ground. You've got a great imagination. Have some fun and get more use from your outdoor grill!
Every one of the barbecues we sell are robust and reliable. Designed to last and endure all that the British weather can bring - you can buy with confidence that your BBQ will bring you years of happiness in the garden. You'll find all the cooking accessories that you'll need for your barbecue - such as tongs, tools and covers in the accessories section. The only item we don't provide is the bottles gas for fuel.
